With the decorative privacy screen series " SPACE VERICAL" from the Palatino range, you can create enchanting accents in your garden. The clear, modern design language is timeless, high-quality and durable; the individual elements can be arranged similarly to a stele, but offer further diverse possibilities for arrangement to create sheltered areas for well-being. SPACE VERTICAL is also suitable for installation between gabions, house walls or posts, as well as for wall mounting or connected in a row or at a corner (90° connecting angles available); this allows the individual element to be used to create a room divider, fence or even an enclosure for garbage cans. The sides are double-folded to a depth of 4 cm, and the corners are reinforced with rivets, giving the element additional stability; there are two holes on each side, top and bottom, for attaching supports, base plates, or corner brackets. All parts, including the supports and the optional screw-on feet, are made of Corten steel and offer the same quality and durability as the leaf itself. All elements are supplied with supports for embedding in concrete – if you wish to anchor the element, please order the corresponding fixing kits. With the newly available SPACE fence posts, the individual panels of the " SPACE Vertical Series" can be arranged even more effectively as a fence, creating the " SPACELINE ". The alternating use of posts and panels structures the fence and significantly increases its stability compared to using individual elements. For simplicity and as an example, we offer two lengths as a complete set; the privacy screen elements are all closed, the posts protrude approximately 1 cm to the front and back, resulting in a nice textured surface. SPACE Vertical thus offers further configuration options for creating sheltered, comfortable areas or defining boundaries with neighboring properties. The extreme durability of Corten steel and its complete maintenance-free nature make it an ideal fencing material. The posts are set in concrete approximately 60 cm deep. It is possible to use either the 99 cm or 87 cm wide standard panels. The post width is 7.5 cm, so when calculating the total fence length, you must always include the number of privacy screens plus the width of the posts, plus an additional width. Should your desired dimensions differ from the standard panels, we can certainly assist you with a custom order. Of course, instead of UNI elements, theme elements such as Vapor can also be used. We offer two different post types: an intermediate or end post for linear arrangements, and a triangular post for creating 90° angles. Not every architectural concept suits the rustic look of rust. For minimalist gardens and modern townhouses, the powder-coated version in anthracite (often RAL 7016 or DB 703) is the first choice. Here, the hardness of the steel meets a velvety, matte surface. A galvanized steel sheet typically forms the base.
This material undergoes a multi-stage cleaning process, is coated, and then baked in an oven at high temperatures. The result is a UV-resistant surface that does not fade and is extremely resistant to mechanical stress.

Do I need a building permit for a privacy screen in my garden?
Whether a permit is required depends primarily on the height of the fence system and the state building codes of your federal state, as well as local zoning regulations. Generally, privacy screens in gardens up to a height of 180 cm do not require a permit, provided a minimum distance of 50 cm is maintained and they are located directly on the property line. However, there are exceptions for corner lots (sight triangles for traffic) or in specific residential areas. We recommend briefly reviewing local neighborhood regulations or contacting the relevant building authority before installation to ensure your new design element complies with all requirements.
What distance must the privacy screen maintain from the property line?
Generally, a privacy screen can be erected directly on the property line if it constitutes a so-called "enclosure." However, the neighbor's consent is often required (keyword: obligation or right to an enclosure). If the privacy screen is erected at a certain distance from the property line, it is often considered a structure. An important point is the so-called "local custom": The fence system should blend harmoniously into the appearance of the neighborhood. Since our systems, made of anthracite and Corten steel, are very timeless and high-quality, they usually meet this aesthetic requirement without any problems.
How deep does the foundation for the privacy screen posts need to be?
For long-term stability, especially under the high wind loads acting on a solid wall, a frost-proof foundation is essential. In Germany, this typically means a depth of 80 cm. This is the only way to prevent freezing water in the ground from lifting the foundation and thus causing the entire privacy screen to tilt. Our solid C-profile posts are structurally designed to be anchored in such point foundations or dowelled onto suitable concrete surfaces (individual elements only).
Can I also install the privacy screen on a slope or incline?
Yes, our modular systems are ideal for sloping properties. Thanks to the stepping method (stair-like arrangement), the individual privacy screen elements can be installed at different heights. Because the elements are securely attached to the post profiles, these height differences can be achieved cleanly and without unsightly gaps. This allows the privacy screen in the garden to follow the natural contours of your terrain, while the top edge creates a harmonious transition.
Does a metal privacy screen also offer noise protection?
Metal privacy screens act as sound reflectors due to their mass and closed surface. While they effectively block direct noise from streets or neighboring properties, they do not absorb sound. To further optimize the acoustics in your garden, we recommend combining them with our compatible planting systems. Dense planting in front of the metal element breaks up the sound waves before they reach the wall, noticeably reducing noise.
