CLARA and NORA planters/raised beds (square base) from the »Palatino« series are available in various designs with a stable base and feet – fully assembled and shipped only via freight carrier. The overall height of the planter increases by approximately 3.5/4.5 cm depending on the size of the planter (distance between planter and ground). The planters, ranging in size from 60x60 cm to 100x100 cm, can be fitted with a substructure made of 1.5 or 2 mm sheet metal and equipped with feet or casters. The robust base replaces the insert of the standard model and is securely screwed to the side panels. The substructure is compatible with all materials we offer. Zinc, anthracite, and green versions come with zinc-colored feet, while the Corten steel planter has feet made of the same material (Corten). Each caster has a load capacity of 100 or 125 kg. Since the large containers weigh almost 60 kg, we offer them fully assembled (shipped via freight carrier). The smaller containers are easy to handle and can also be ordered as a self-assembly kit. All our containers are manufactured to precise industrial standards and assembled using screws; their unique stability comes from the folded sheet metal, making them resource-efficient and highly durable. The surfaces require no maintenance. The substructure, both with feet and with casters, is also listed separately for purchase: under ACCESSORIES, so it can be bought and installed later. Production takes place on modern CNC machines with optimal dimensional accuracy. No comparison to cheap imports from the Far East. We are committed to our German production site and handle all manufacturing in-house. That's our quality promise! Plastic rollers, Ø 65/80 mm, natural color, load capacity per roller 100/125 kg Can be used as a large decorative planter or for direct planting with potted plants, trees or useful plants. Therefore, the elements are delivered in their mill-finished state and are either not rusted or only slightly rusted. Experience the transformation within a few days – an information sheet on surface treatment is enclosed. Patina development During the production and processing of the raw steel sheets, no patina has yet formed on the surface. This only develops through natural weathering. The formation of the visually appealing surface begins after two to three weeks and is only complete after 1.5 to 3 years. The alternation between wet and dry weather is crucial for the formation of the protective layer. If there are surface areas that are not exposed to this weathering, the vibrant, elegant rust patina will not develop there. Download | Information about Corten (PDF)

The new conical MAX planter from the »Palatino« series, made of Corten steel, makes a statement in terms of shape and size. The planter can be used both as a cachepot and directly for filling. LOTTE XXL planter/privacy screen from the »Palatino« series; modular design. Featuring the same design as the Palatino series, it offers optimal combination possibilities – arrange different heights, widths, and lengths... Suitable for private use, as an impressive feature in restaurants, or for dividing commercial spaces. The material's unique character combines with personal design freedom above the intermediate floor. The stabilizing substructure and the newly developed intermediate floor, located approximately 24 cm below the edge, allow for a variety of filling options, including planting substrate or seasonal greenery such as bark mulch. We recommend adding a layer of gravel or stones to the bottom for added stability. An additional shelf for the bottom is optionally available; this makes sense if you want to add stones at the bottom for weight – then order it at the same time. Not suitable for complete filling and planting without an intermediate shelf; in that case, please choose a different model, e.g., URBAN. The anthracite color harmonizes perfectly with the greenery in your garden. Production takes place on modern CNC machines with optimal dimensional accuracy.
Anthracite planters: Modern simplicity through refined steel
For those who value aesthetics , our anthracite-colored planters are the perfect complement. They are made of galvanized steel and additionally finished with a high-quality powder coating. These planters impress with a modern look that is particularly effective in urban settings.
The combination of galvanizing and a paint coating guarantees double corrosion protection and ensures a matte surface that is easy to clean and retains its elegant appearance for years to come. During production, the surface is covered with a protective film to guarantee a flawless appearance until installation at your site.
Large plant containers as a structural element for expansive outdoor areas
When designing expansive terraces, commercial outdoor areas, or parks, conventional planters often reach their limits in terms of both structural integrity and aesthetics. Large planters, on the other hand, offer a solution for the need for substantial volume without sacrificing elegant lines. By combining different planting series, it's possible to create planting landscapes that extend far beyond the scope of individual standalone pieces.
These dimensions open up entirely new possibilities for spatial structuring: Use the massive metal structures, for example in the URBAN Nexus series, as architectural privacy screens or as effective room dividers in public areas. Tall planter: Vertical gardening without compromise
A tall planter, such as our 100 cm high "MAX" model, places special demands on its filling. To optimize the weight and the required amount of soil, these models come standard with intermediate shelves.
However, the system allows even more.
Thanks to their vertical stackability, planters from the CLARA, LOTTE, NORA , and CARLOTTA series can be easily screwed together. This creates impressive columns or terraced raised beds that allow gardening at a back-friendly height while simultaneously adding architectural accents. At each level, you can decide whether to insert a base or leave it out for deep-rooted plants.
Special solutions: From balcony planters to houseleek enclosures
Even for limited spaces like balconies, our system offers the perfect solution. Small units from the "CLARA" series (starting at 40x40 cm) or flat raised bed borders are ideal for specialized plantings. Those looking for planters for houseleeks or rock garden plants will appreciate the variable filling height. By placing the bases at different levels, shallow substrate layers can be created, precisely tailored to the needs of succulents. For culinary inspiration, our special "LIMAX" herb stands make gardening possible even in the smallest of spaces.
Inspiration for planting your metal planters
The aesthetic appeal of a metal planter truly unfolds when paired with the right plants. The warm, rusted look of Corten steel creates an excellent contrast to the delicate green of plants. Mediterranean classics like olive trees or standard trees are showcased to particularly elegant effect in our tall TOWER planters , as the deep substrate protects the roots from extreme fluctuations in soil moisture. For modern, minimalist designs in anthracite, planting with topiary such as boxwood balls is ideal, or using them as trendy herb troughs right next to the barbecue area.

Frequently Asked Questions about our plant pots (FAQ)
Are the plant containers winter-proof?
Yes, all Palatino systems made of Corten steel or galvanized steel are completely frost and weather resistant. They can remain outdoors all year round.
Do I need an inner pot or an irrigation system?
Thanks to our sturdy metal construction, an inner pot is not necessary. However, we recommend lining the pot with a dimpled membrane or other form of insulation to protect against frost and drying out. If the pot is used indoors, a saucer must be used, as the containers have a perforated, water-permeable base.
How do I prevent waterlogging in the planter?
Our containers have drainage holes in the bottom or can be used as bottomless frames. In combination with a drainage layer of expanded clay, optimal water drainage is ensured.
Are there any rust stains on the terrace?
With Corten steel, rust runoff can occur during the patina formation phase. We recommend placing it on a non-sensitive surface, pre-rusting it in a suitable area such as a lawn, or placing a removable tarp underneath. Our anthracite-colored planters, on the other hand, are completely runoff-free.
