URBAN raised bed – new modular model made of extra-thick Corten steel
Multi-part segmented variable raised bed from the »Palatino« series.
At 70 centimeters high, we've developed a robust and versatile version of a large raised bed. With the URBAN series, made of two-millimeter-thick steel and one-meter-wide elements, you can build a truly spacious raised bed – why not configure your dream raised bed yourself?
In this category you will find pre-assembled sets that include a climbing aid for beans, peas or similar plants in addition to the raised bed, in various sizes and versions - our Urban always makes a good impression.
Raised beds are popular with young and old alike – fresh fruit and vegetables are often difficult or impossible to obtain and/or involve long journeys. Raised beds extend the season with higher yields and easier cultivation. The Corten steel material also offers protection against slugs and a uniquely durable, natural-looking surface. The applications for URBAN are limitless, whether for permanent planting, partitioning, or as a standalone centerpiece in landscaping; the beds can be used as borders or placed against walls and fences – anything is possible.

Observe general filling criteria for raised beds; Corten steel raised beds do not require additional inner lining or insulation!

- Dimensions of raised bed basic module (length x width x height): 100/200 x 100 x 70 cm, smallest L-module: 200 x 200 cm
- Set includes Urban, trellis and rope set
- Weight per segment approx. 15 kg, 100x100 cm total approx. 60 kg, 200x100 cm approx. 90 kg
- Top and bottom edges double folded over 40/20 mm – perfectly combinable with the rest of the Palatino series
- Connectors (C-profile) 22 cm long are included.
- Segmented, it can be extended with 100 cm long segments to 300, 400 … centimeters!
- The segmentation allows for L or U shapes by incorporating internal or external angles. The leg length of each angle is 50 cm.
- Material: Corten steel ("weathering steel") 2 mm
- Delivered as mill finish - patina develops gradually, no rust streaks thereafter
- Each flower bed develops its own unique patina over time – always one of a kind.

- Delivered as a kit via freight carrier (notification required) for easy and quick self-assembly.
- Additional cross bracing is recommended for larger structural designs, especially when several longitudinal segments are joined.

Delivery condition: mill finish
The weatherproof structural steel is processed in its mill-finished state. Therefore, in its normal delivery condition, the elements are mill-finished and either not rusted or only slightly rusted.
Patina development
During the production and processing of the raw steel sheets, no patina has yet formed on the surface. This only develops through natural weathering. The formation of the visually appealing surface begins after 2-3 weeks and is only complete after 1.5 to 3 years. The alternation between wet and dry weather is crucial for the formation of the protective layer. If there are surface areas that are not exposed to this weathering, the vibrant, elegant rust patina will not develop there.
