Description
LIMAX Zero herb staircase – a staircase landscape for herbs and bees

The planter series, featuring the models LOTTE, CLARA, and CARLOTTA , is arranged with three containers to create the Limax Zero herb staircase. Within its compact 80x100 cm dimensions, the terraced surface allows for a variety of growing conditions for herbs, with steps descending in 25 cm increments. This creates a beautiful ensemble in a very small space. Corten steel combines beautifully with natural materials such as wood or stone; the staircase heats up quickly and always leaves a lasting, unique impression. The staircase can be extended onto adjacent areas by planting, landscaping the surrounding ground, or even creating a small wetland.
LIMAX Zero is a creative idea that requires only a few tools for assembly and can be beautifully showcased even in small gardens. Please ensure a level and stable surface to guarantee long-lasting enjoyment of your LIMAX. Consider the requirements for each tier: typically, the sunniest, drought-tolerant plants are planted at the top, those with fresher, more nutrient-rich soil requirements in the middle tiers, and moisture-loving plants at the bottom. Create suitable conditions by varying the substrates, always ensuring good drainage by incorporating a drainage layer – beneficial for the steps and for herbs. Since all containers are bottomless, the plants will root down into the surrounding soil. The containers can be connected laterally, but this requires drilling the necessary holes yourself, which is easily done with Corten steel. If you prefer bottoms, these can be purchased from our accessories range.
All models are made of genuine Corten steel – professional quality from GEIGER – offering exceptional durability and the renowned advantages of our modular system. Lightweight construction and easy handling of individual components ensure a pleasant experience. The individual components are listed at the base, allowing you to see which items are used and how they can be added for future expansions.
Speaking of which:
LIMAX is Latin for snail, which refers to the shape - but you will rarely see snails, as Corten steel repels snails and they avoid crawling over it.

Delivery condition: mill finish
The weatherproof structural steel is processed in its mill-finished state. Therefore, in its normal delivery condition, the elements are mill-finished and either not rusted or only slightly rusted.
Patina development
During the production and processing of the raw steel sheets, no patina has yet formed on the surface. This only develops through natural weathering. The formation of the visually appealing surface begins after 2-3 weeks and is only complete after 1.5 to 3 years. The alternation between wet and dry weather is crucial for the formation of the protective layer. If there are surface areas that are not exposed to this weathering, the vibrant, elegant rust patina will not develop there.
