SCALA herb staircase – a staircase landscape in the truest sense of the word
The planter series, featuring the CLARA, LOTTE, and CARLOTTA models, is arranged with eight containers to create the SCALA herb staircase. Along a stretch of almost five meters, tiered sections allow for the realization of your herb, flower, and vegetable dreams. This impressive ensemble offers ample space for a variety of plants, suitable for both seasonal and permanent plantings. The depth of the containers allows for endless possibilities. Taller plants or trees can also be incorporated to create a unique border effect. The staircase can be extended onto the adjacent area by planting or landscaping the surrounding soil, or even by creating a small wetland. This is just one of the many ways to creatively bring your ideas to life.
SCALA is an idea that requires only a few tools to implement and will enhance your garden. Please ensure a level and stable surface to guarantee long-lasting enjoyment of SCALA. This design offers the potential for any type of planting. Create the ideal conditions by varying the substrate, always ensuring good drainage by incorporating a drainage layer – ideal for both the steps and the plants. Since all containers are bottomless, the plants root in the surrounding soil. The containers can be connected laterally, but this requires drilling the necessary holes yourself, which is easily done with Corten steel. If you prefer bottoms, these can be purchased from our accessories range.
All models are made of genuine Corten steel – professional quality from GEIGER – offering exceptional durability and the renowned advantages of our modular system. Lightweight construction and easy handling of individual components ensure a pleasant experience. Delivery condition: mill finish
The weatherproof structural steel is processed in its mill-finished state. Therefore, in its normal delivery condition, the elements are mill-finished and either not rusted or only slightly rusted.
Patina development
During the production and processing of the raw steel sheets, no patina has yet formed on the surface. This only develops through natural weathering. The formation of the visually appealing surface begins after 2-3 weeks and is only complete after 1.5 to 3 years. The alternation between wet and dry weather is crucial for the formation of the protective layer. If there are surface areas that are not exposed to this weathering, the vibrant, elegant rust patina will not develop there.
