Our offer for tomato lovers – the URBAN raised bed with its specially designed trellis system offers the perfect opportunity to grow tomatoes. The trellis, which forms a roof, allows tomatoes to be trained upwards using strings. Standard plastic sheeting can be covered for protection and secured with magnets (not included). This allows for flexible use: with just the roof, with closed sides, or completely enclosed. It's also possible to install rigid inserts, such as those made of plexiglass, within the frame.
The planter has a base area of 100x100 cm and a height of 70 cm, and can also be used to protect sensitive plants during the colder months. The attractive planting frame allows a view into the interior.
A depth of 70 cm is sufficient for long-term planting, even with trees or shrubs.
HOME OF TOMATOES is a suggestion and can be supplemented, expanded or modified within Geiger's modular system.
Thanks to the STEPS substructure, the 100x100 cm tomato house can be mobilized and easily moved using a forklift or pallet truck.
Of course, the house can also be built in a 200x100 cm format or other sizes; if you have any questions, we will be happy to advise you.
Delivered without a base as standard, the plants can root in the existing soil; however, please still observe our general filling instructions for the raised beds.
All models are made of genuine Corten steel – professional quality from GEIGER – offering exceptional durability and the well-known advantages of our modular system. Lightweight construction and easy handling of the individual parts ensure a truly enjoyable experience.

Delivery condition: mill finish
The weatherproof structural steel is processed in its mill-finished state. Therefore, in its normal delivery condition, the elements are mill-finished and either not rusted or only slightly rusted.
Initially, until the rust patina develops, rust may flake off by up to 0.05 mm; please factor this into your installation plans. Once the patina has formed, genuine Corten steel will not develop any further rust streaks.
Patina development
During the production and processing of the raw steel sheets, no patina has yet formed on the surface. This only develops through natural weathering. The formation of the visually appealing surface begins after 2-3 weeks and is only complete after 1.5 to 3 years. The alternation between wet and dry weather is crucial for the formation of the protective layer. If there are surface areas that are not exposed to this weathering, the vibrant, elegant rust patina will not develop there.
