Description

A base for the URBAN raised bed – often requested and finally here.
Our large raised bed is delivered without a base as standard; it stands extremely stable and has optimal contact with the ground underneath, however, there are situations in which a base is useful.
Whether you want your raised bed with an insert instead of being open – or you only want to fill part of it because you only need a shallow bed depth – now all this is possible with GROUND.
GROUND, the intermediate floor consists of two elements
> a substructure consisting of transverse and longitudinal beams and
> Perforated insert plates in two sizes, for placing on the substructure or simply for placing in the garden bed
This allows for the installation of a base or the creation of an intermediate floor by raising it along with the substructure. Currently, we only offer GROUND for straight beds with a depth of 50 or 100 cm.

Complete sets are available for six sizes; please inquire for other sizes!

Frustration-free assembly
If you only want to insert the insert trays, you don't need any tools at all, just insert them.
The substructure is also easy to assemble. If your raised bed has cross braces, these are omitted, and instead, transverse support profiles are screwed to all opposing segment joints. Longitudinal profiles are then attached to these – the substructure is now complete, and the insert panels are simply placed on top. You can choose between a filling depth of 25 and 41 cm.
Advantages of "URBAN GROUND"
> Quick assembly, segmented construction, kit, individual parts can be transported by hand
Extension possible via modular system; for each additional meter you need three insert plates, 331 mm wide.
Sturdy, "locksmith-quality" construction made of galvanized sheet steel, no maintenance required.
> not visible from the outside
> durable, robust, stable
> replaces the vole protection
> When used as an intermediate floor, reduced substrate requirements
> Easier to work with due to the shallower substrate depth, faster heating
> reduced overall weight
> can be placed more easily on sensitive soils; the edge can be supported with a foundation.
> no distributed load
Observe the general filling criteria for raised beds!
The use of galvanized steel sheet makes the "URBAN GROUND" flooring a very durable product. The floors are perforated, making them water-permeable. We recommend laying a geotextile fabric underneath to prevent substrate from penetrating the floor or clogging the perforations.
Production takes place on modern CNC machines with optimal dimensional accuracy. No comparison to cheap imports from the Far East. We are committed to our German production site and handle all manufacturing in-house. That's our quality promise!
Technical data
